Abstract

Since completion of the Southeastern Boll Weevil Eradication Program, insecticide use has declined. Concurrently, populations of beneficial arthropods have increased and both bollworm and tobacco budworm infestations have required fewer treatments. New strategies are evolving which exploit naturally occuring biocontrol agents, primarily by avoiding disruptive chemical insecticide applications.
