ARF parasitizing a fourth-stage juvenile of the soybean cyst nematode.  The head of the nematode is within the root where it has established a perminant feeding site in the vascular tissue.  The tail end of the nematode is protruding from the root and is covered with mycelium.

A fourth-stage juvenile of the soybean cyst nematode parasitized by ARF.   Note the mycelial mat attached to the posterior end of the nematode.  These mats are always associated with infected nematodes and are thought to form prior to or during the infection process.
