Fungi that form traps

Several species of soil-dwelling fungi produce traps to ensnare nematodes before they infect them.  Traps come in many forms: adhesive hyphae, networks, knobs, rings; and constricting rings.  Some trapping fungi can proliferate in soil in the absence of nematodes while others are more dependent on nematodes as a nutrient source for growth.
