REMM was originally developed for riparian sites/transects typical of the inner coastal plain, where there is an impeding soil layer and water is forced as subsurface lateral flow. REMM needs to be evaluated for riparian site conditions typical of

• outer coastal plain,
• piedmont, and
• ridge and valley.
