Grad. Res. Associate, USDA-ARS, NSERL and Purdue Univ., West Lafayette, IN,
1986-1990.
Grad. Res. Associate, University of GA, Crop & Soil Sci. Dept., Athens, GA,
1985-1986.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Research interests include: understanding fundamental mechanics involved in
runoff generation and sediment delivery; quantifying effects of agricultural management
practices that reduce runoff and sediment losses; developing interrelationships between
intrinsic soil properties, rainfall characteristics, runoff and sediment losses, and
agrichemical (pesticides and phosphorus) losses; quantifying effects of
"extreme" rainfall events on runoff, sediment, and agrichemical losses; relating
soil physical and morphological properties to water movement and agrichemical
persistence/kinetics and movement; and developing databases to improve and/or develop
models (especially event-based) to predict runoff, sediment, and agrichemical losses, and
assess the risk associated with these losses on surface water quality.
